1)NetAlert is the Australian Government’s internet safety initiative which consists of a wide range of activities. Together, these activities provide a comprehensive response to the needs of the Australian community in protecting their families online.

2) They are provideing every household and library with the new NetAlert program because they have acknowledged that the internet could be a harmful tool to children. It can be harmful by using online chatting sites, and talking to people you don’t know such as kidschat.com. Another reason for implementing such a program is because of cyber bullying that is common in schools all around australia.

Here is the question:

Discuss the ways in which the rights and freedoms of the Aboriginal peoples in Australia have changed from the Dreamtime to the present.

Why have certain words been placed in a bold font? They have been written in bold font because they are written in keywords and are important for the statement to be understood.
What is the object of the sentence? The object of the sentence is to discuss the subject.
What is the Subject of the sentence? The subject of the sentence is the way in which the rights and freedoms of of Aboriginal peoples have changed in Australia from the Dreamtime to the Present.
What ‘time frame’ has been identified? The ‘time frame’ has been identified as from the DREAMTIME to the PRESENT.
What is a right? A right is a power or privilege that is granted.
What are ‘freedoms’? Freedoms are the power to act or speak without externally imposed restraints.
Identify the ‘verbs’ in the question. What is the main verb? (The one that asks you to do something). What does it mean for you when you attempt to answer the question?
What things do you think you could and should include in your answer? List them below. Discuss being the main verb because it is a doing word in that sentence and also that it tells you the main thing to do seeing that it is the object of the sentence. Attempting is to try making an effort. I think i should and could include verbs, nouns, sophisticated language in my answer.

The Aboriginal Dreamtime

Unto this king of people,
Life’s not a modern rhyme,
Ancient Culture be thy real love,
Govern’d, potency, Dreamtime.

Jiva or Guruwari, seed power,
Ever boding dreaming,
Thy sacredness enshrined,
A’fore the white man scheming.

Tis nobler, do not teach the teacher,
Thou canst not be Wandjina,
Assimilation, doubt thou spirits,
What says a horrible scar?

To thine Baiame thoust be true,
Hath not your mystery bonded?
An aboriginal nation,
On whitemans untimely stage, secondered.

analisation

the poem is saying that the  aboriganals are indestress because there land has been tacken from them. the poem macks feel sorry for the aborigqanals.this poem demenstrates the emotions of sadness sorrownessand destress.when i read this poem in my head i see thousand of upset aboriganals. if iwas an aboriganal inthat time i would fell anger ans sadness and i would fell that my life has been torn upside down . thias poem was written by a man called poalo on the 16 of july2003.this poem was written for people so people know the pain ths aboriganals went through.

1.they are probably silent naturally but they also could be silent and subdued because they are felling as if they are being overthrown from the white people and under thier power.

2. they are represented as ants. because they are working to build thier colony as ants do.

3. a bora ring is an initiation rite for the aboriginies in which the boys are accepted into the tribe as men, and it is important to this poem because the bora ring is becoming less existant as the white poeple are settleing in.

4. the aboriginals are treated as insignificant to the white poeple, yet the white people are the unsettlers.

5. a sense of belonging is the effect it gives to the reader.

6.the poet is giving the reader a direct view to let us see the things as the aboriginals would have seen it “many white men hurry about like ants.”

7.The poem begins to talk about their tribe , it then talks about their land and home it has been overrun by the white men (English) moving around the land quickly as if ants, it seems their land is being used as a rubbish tip. They are disgraced for this is sacred land in which ceremonies such as corroberies and other special ceremonies are held such as the hunt and tales are told of the sacred dreamtime the tribe look upon their land. All of its speciality is gone for invaders have taken t from them and since they are not strong enough to fight for them selves they leave it to fight another day. And in the last 6 lines they explain how their culture is becoming more non existent.

8. Just as in the Dreamtime stories, the elements have personality. Thunder is “that loud fellow.”

9. Certain lines in the poem create an atmosphere/mood of hatred such as “We belong here, we are of the old ways.”

10.The theme in this poem is very important becasue it is something that is still a big issue today. As for the title “we are going” it ties in with the conclusion  (last 6 lines) where the poet lists the things that have gone after the white people came.
